Further Qualification for PING (IPAF – Operator for Lift Platforms)

We are pleased to announce that employees of PING GmbH have successfully completed the official training for lifting platform operators with the International Powered Access Federation, IPAF. With this new IPAF qualification, PING GmbH can work even more effectively and secures another competitive advantage in the professional cleaning of data centres and server rooms.

Congratulations to all graduates.

What is IPAF?

IPAF is a not-for-profit membership organisation. It is owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, dealers, contractors and users. IPAF members operate most of the world’s rental fleets of access platforms and manufacture around 85 percent of all machines available on the market.

IPAF was founded in 1983 and has more than 1,400 members in 70 countries and regions. More than 750 IPAF-certified training centres have already issued more than 800,000 valid PAL Cards.

National and regional IPAF councils discuss country-specific issues and make recommendations to the IPAF Council so that topics can be examined in more detail and appropriate measures initiated. The councils also organise national and regional activities to promote the safe use of access technology.

Another advantage of membership is the ability to run the IPAF training programme for operators of mobile elevating work platforms, which is certified by TÜV as compliant with ISO 18878. More than 150,000 operators are trained every year through a worldwide network of IPAF-certified training centres. Successful graduates receive the PAL Card, the world’s most widely recognised proof of quality-assured training for operators of mobile elevating work platforms.

What is the PAL Card?

A PAL Card, Powered Access Licence, is proof of training for operating mobile elevating work platforms, mast climbing work platforms and construction hoists.

To qualify for a PAL Card, operators must complete IPAF training and pass an examination at an IPAF-certified training centre.

The PAL Card is accepted in more than 51 countries as proof of high-quality operator training. Worldwide, there are more than 750 IPAF-certified training centres and more than 2 million PAL Cards have already been issued as evidence of industry-recognised IPAF training.

The IPAF training programme was developed by leading industry specialists and is certified by TÜV according to the international standard ISO 18878. This standard describes training for operators of mobile elevating work platforms.

The International Powered Access Federation promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide through technical advice and information, influence on legislation and standards and their interpretation, safety initiatives and training programmes.
